H20 Student Ministries strives to help high school students...
Have a love for each other
2 reach their world
Offer up their lives to God
Serve others passionately, and
Make following Jesus first in their lives
What characteristics do we hope each will student possess when they have consistently drank from First Baptist Church H20SM for 6 years?
Intimacy with God
One who has learned to intimately walk with God through prayer and
bible-study like Jesus (Phil. 3:10).
Christ-like Character
One who has yielded themselves to the Spirit of God and demonstrate the
fruit of the Spirit like Jesus – Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23).
Others-focused Heart
One who has the ability to see the needs of others like Jesus. Phil.
2:1-11. Encourage, listen, serve, lead, help, etc.
Relationship-building Ability
One who has learned how to initiate and build solid growing
relationships in which they can enjoy life, and minister God’s love like
Jesus (Jesus with the disciples).
Desire to Serve God’s People
One who has come to value “body life” and learned to play a key role
in the greater family of believers so that after high school they will
most likely turn to a church family to serve them, love them, and be
loved by them like Jesus (Acts 2:41-47, Eph. 5:25)
Ability to Share their Faith
One who has learned to boldly and skillfully target friends
specifically and lead them to a decision about Jesus as Savior – God’s
timing (Mt. 28:19-20).
Authentic Faith
One who has placed their faith in God’s Word for Who God is and what
He will do in their lives and in the world like Jesus with the Father.
These beliefs have become convictions leading to godly decisions. (Jn.
17)
Morally Pure
One who understands biblical purity guidelines and has formed a deep
resolve to keep their body set apart unto God in all relationships like
Jesus (1 Thess. 4:3-8).
Thinking Biblical
One who has learned how to evaluate the philosophies of the world
channeled through commercials, news, daily conversations, friends,
teachers, and others sources in order to make God-honoring bible-based
decisions like Jesus. (Col. 2:2-4, Rom. 12:2)
We desire to see each student who comes through H2O become a leader for Christ and not followers of a broken lost world. How can God use us to accomplish this in the lives of our kids?
